Route 8: Mosquito Creek Trail

The Mosquito Creek Trail is a trail that I have enjoyed walking on for many years. The trail is close to my house, well-maintained, and very well-travelled by other people looking to be active in nature. My favourite aspect of this trail is that there are two different sections; the upper portion is steeper and more physically demanding, and the lower part is flatter and easier to walk on. This flat lower portion of the trail allows me to get exercise even on days when my energy is low. However, there are often black bear sightings on this trail, so it is important to be aware of your surroundings during times of the year when bear sightings are common!

Difficulty Rating (1-5): Lower portion: 1; Upper portion: 2.5 - 3

Dog-Friendly: Yes!
